Here Is Your Case Study To Go Through Immediately!

WELCOME

Hi my name is Joel and welcome to the video case study on The 3 Secrets Famous Dancers are Using in their videos by Dancers Cut.
I developed this because I was once a terrible Instagram Hubby and I run a dance studio.

Plus I was curious on how these videos out there looked so amazing compared to our boring still shots. So if that’s you in some capacity or you simply wanna look better on camera than this is for you!

We’re going to break this down in a few separate videos and text so keep on going!

The First Secret: They’re always in the center of the frame.

Many dancers achieve this even without a camera person available, known as a still shot but they have to minimize their left and right movements. Fortunately these famous dancers have found a way to keep the camera dancing with them despite having no camera person.

This is achieved through a technique called “Movement Mapping”. This maps out the dancer’s movements most commonly used for left and right motions but can also be done for zooming in and zooming out.

They can take this a step further by accenting movements and music to really find ways to enhance the dance and stand out on social media. This can also be applied when you have a camera person too which makes it really stand out if they’re actually good at filming.

So lets take a look at some examples so you can clearly see what I’m talking about.

The 2nd Secret: They shoot videos at 24 Frames Per Second (FPS)

If you have no idea what I'm talking about think of your camera snapping 24 pictures within a second to make a video. By default most phones are set to 30fps or sometimes even 60fps.

Most people think the higher fps the better. I thought that too for the longest time because naturally we think the higher the number the better and if it takes up more space it must be higher quality right?

The exception is that it is useful in cases such as if you want to record for slow motion footage. However if this isn't the case like most of these famous dancers doing choreo… Then it will look like a cheap recording with nothing left to the imagination.

There is a reason why major Hollywood movies record at 24fps. Its because it looks more cinematic and leaves room for the imagination due to motion blur. This is why all action scenes look so epic!

Applying this to your dance will make you look better than you already are!
I don’t need to explain much more so I’m gonna drop examples of frames per second videos.

24 FPS

As you can see movement looks sharper/snappier. This is ideal for dance especially for group choreos where there may be slight differences in timing.

60 FPS

I will say, some people like the look of 60 FPS because of the "smoothness" but if you do plan to shoot at 60 fps, make sure your group is ON POINT. Any slightly off timing will be much more apparent than 24 fps.

30 FPS

A trained eye can tell the difference between 24 - 30 but the average person would not be able to tell. You can see it's slightly smoother than 24 and there is less motion blur.

The Third Secret: They have access to a professional videographer who specializes in filming dance (ultra rare and they pay out some serious cash for their profession) OR they use an auto tracking device to follow them.

The most reliable and accessible auto tracker on the market right now is without a doubt PIVO. This is a great tool for dance creators who don’t want to do the basics of Movement Mapping and simply want their phone to follow them left and right. Which I’ve stated can definitely make all of the difference referring back to the first secret.

But what if you combined this with our full movement mapping system? The results make for a unique viewing experience and can actually beat out a professional dance videographer.

Should you have the desire to do this exact same thing as PIVO but with a professional camera then you’ll want to look into the DJI Raveneye which will need to be paired with the DJI RS2.

After all this you might be thinking. Why not just ask my friend. Well the truth is your friends have lives. Yes they may be willing to shoot for you but will you be satisfied with the result?

Maybe. Maybe not and after how many takes??? You know exactly what I'm talking about!

If you implement these secrets you’ll know that you won’t have to rely on others for your own creativity and that’s certainly a win if you’re the type of person to get things done now! Speaking of now, now’s a great time to get into Dancers Cut.
